Swiss market flat
The Swiss Market Index (SMI) is expected to end the week flat after another volatile trading session. The economic slowdown in China remains central to the recent sell off although optimism that the Chinese government will act to stabilise its financial markets did help boost sentiment this week.
Swiss jobless rate remains stable as expected in August
Swiss unemployment rate held steady in August, in line with expectations, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs reported Tuesday. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate came in at 3.3 percent in August, the same rate as in the prior month. The figure was also matched with consensus estimate. Read more.
