The latest weather forecasts show Swiss temperatures falling abruptly ahead of this weekend. The Meteo Swiss website is showing a high of 17 degrees celsius for Geneva and Zurich today. By the weekend winter will have arrived with temperatures dropping sharply on Friday night. By Sunday the high in both Zurich and Geneva will be 5 degrees, with lows of 0 and 1 respectively. By Monday overnight lows will reach -2 in Zurich and -1 in Geneva. Lausanne will not be spared either, with a Sunday high of 5 and an overnight low of zero on Monday.

At higher altitudes such as Zermatt (1,608m), Verbier (1,500m), St. Moritz (1,822m) and parts of the Jura, snow is forecast on Sunday. The snow will come with much lower temperatures in Zermatt (-7), Verbier (-8), St. Moritz (-14) and La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Jura (-4).
