According to Vaud Police, around 5pm on Saturday a man died in an accident at Lausanne train station in Switzerland. After kicking a departing train, he lost his balance and fell between the moving train and the platform dying immediately.

The Police were advised around 5pm. Initial reports said that a man had kicked a train that had just started moving after he’d failed to make it on board.
The victim was described as being a man in his forties but has not yet been identified.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact course of events leading to the accident and to identify the victim with the help of  train station police and the cantonal forensic identity service.
The accident response involved four Swiss Rail fire service and Lausanne rescue service personnel, two Swiss Rail psychologists, two transport police, four municipal police officers and two members of Vaud’s Gendarmerie.
