The snow is back. Again.

Some in Switzerland awoke to snow on Sunday morning. The weather service Meteo News is predicting more light snow overnight and on Monday across the Swiss plateau.

Speaking to Le Matin, Lionel Peyraud of Météo Suisse said 10 to 17 cm of snow could fall at altitudes above 1,000 m, with 15 cm falling on the Grand-St-Bernard pass. On the plateau, the snow is unlikely to stay for long. Meteo Swiss is forecasting a high of 14 degrees in Geneva by Friday and a high of 12 degrees in Zurich by then.

This cold snap is part of the same cold front that forced the cancellation of the last race of the Patrouille des Glaciers at the weekend. The iconic Swiss ski and mountaineering race traverses the rugged high-altitude mountain terrain between Zermatt and Verbier.
