Road tolls to increase in France

According to various newspapers in France, French motorway tolls are set to increase from 1 February next year. Price increases will vary by region, increasing on average by 0.76%, a rate exceeding inflation, which has been close to zero over the last twelve months.

Motorways in southern France will see the biggest hike (+1.19%), while central-west France will be hit with rises of 0.572%. Other regions, such as the north-west (0.582%), south-east (+0.592%), the Paris-Rhin-Rhône routes (0.896%) and Rhin-Rhône stretch (0.926%) will see price rises somewhere in between.

The worst affected stretch will be between Lyon and Bordeaux, which will see its tolls rise by 1.2%.

According to rtl.fr, toll prices have gone up 16% over the last ten years, twice the rate of inflation.
