After quadrupling between 1995 and 2008, acts of violence among men aged 15 and 24 in Switzerland dropped by 56% between 2008 and 2017, according to a recent analysis by accident insurer Suva.

In 2017, there were around 1,600 violent offenses, compared to around 3,600 in 2008. The number of cases has been broadly flat since 2015.
In addition, patterns of violence have changed. Recent cases of violence have become more concentrated into the weekends. Most occur between 10pm and 6am on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Suva is a public-sector insurer in Switzerland, which covers healthcare and accidents. Around 2 million people are insured by the company.
