Last week, Swiss-born footballer Granit Xhaka, transferred from German football club Borussia Monchengladbach, to the English club Arsenal, ahead of the start of the European Championships on 10 June 2016.

The Swiss mid-fielder, born to Kosovar Albanian parents in Basel, was transferred for £33.8 million according to London’s Evening Standard, the highest sum ever paid for a Swiss player.
23 year-old Xhaka began his career at local club Basel, before moving to the German club Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2012, where he played 140 games and was made team captain at the age of 22.
He has played for Switzerland since 2011, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
A naturally gifted player, he was included in the Swiss under 17 team at the age of 14.
