Thursday afternoon, amazingly, though she was surrounded by excited children who were not using their indoor voices, a giant mechanical grandma appeared to be catching a few winks in Geneva before she and her grand-daughter wake up and stroll through the city Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

During their three days in Geneva, they’ll be exploring the neighborhoods of Carouge, Plainpalais, Parc La Grange and Paquis, and are likely to be accompanied by just a few tens of thousands of their newest friends.
Grandma and granddaughter are the stars of La Saga des Géants, a spectacular display of enormous puppets who have one foot in the 19th century and the other in some steampunk future. They’d love to meet you.

On Friday, the grand daughter will rise at 9:30 am at Place de la Sardaigne, while Grandma will shake off her slumber at 10:50 in Plainpalais. On Saturday and Sunday Geneva’s large visitors are both expected to rise at 10:00 am in Plainpalais.
During the day they will both take siestas en route before continuing their city strolls. Times and routes are shown here.
