Last Friday pianos started appearing on the streets of Geneva, free for anyone to play.

The pianos are part of an outdoor artwork by British artist Luke Jerram. Touring internationally since 2008, he has overseen the installation of more than 1,500 pianos in over 50 cities around the world. Called Play Me, I’m Yours (Jouez, je suis à vous), the scheme puts pianos at the disposal of the public in parks, streets and squares. The project, which has reached more than 10 million people globally, has a website where Geneva residents and visitors can locate the instruments.

The city now has 54 public pianos and one mobile pop up one equipped with peddles that could be anywhere at any moment.

For piano lovers with fingers that like to travel, there is also a global map of piano locations.
Here is a video of one of the pianos in action on the streets of the city of Calvin.
The Geneva exhibition runs until 21 June 2016. Luke will be in Paris from 22 June 2016.
