A new film called “La Liste”, starring 26 year old Jérémie Heitz, charts the history and evolution of steep skiing. Planned for release in 2016, the film will show the skier descending 15 Swiss peaks over 4,000 metres in his home canton of Valais. The film trailer below shows the incredible steepness and speed of his descents.
Born in 1989, Jérémie Heitz lives in Les Marécottes, not far from Martigny. In March this year he achieved speeds over 120 km/h at the Verbier’s extreme skiing event.
The film includes an interview with Sylvain Saudan, born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1936, known as “skier of the impossible”. In 1982 he skied from the top of Gasherbrum I, the 8,080 metre himalayan peak also known as K5, achieving the record for the longest 50-degree ski descent.
